Melco Group International, Inc. is pleased to announce that on Friday August 14th, 1998 it was visited by Ms. Dorothy Brown and Patricia Beasley, Marketing & Client Support representatives of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Automated Export System.

Mr. William App, Jr., President and Mr. Rudy Remont, Vice President of J.W. Allen & Company, Inc. (New Orleans, LA) also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the feeling was expressed that since MGI, Inc. already has a substantial number of AERP "Automated Export Reporting Program" filers, and over 170 client sites processing approximately 100,000 export transactions per month, by certifying the OASIS 'Ocean Air Shipping Information System' the Department of Commerce efforts would be greatly enhanced in implementing AES.

In order to certify the OASIS software system, rigourous testing procedures will have to be implemented and MGI, Inc. is pleased to inform that the firm of J.W. Allen & Company, Inc. headquartered in New Orleans, LA., has volunteered as the official test site, under the certification process.

"All the efforts of the testing procedures leading up to and including the resulting algorithms and updated code necessary to update the OASIS systems nationwide, will be delivered to existing clients sites, once the certification process has been completed and verified by the U.S. Treasury, U.S. Customs, U.S. Department of Commerce and appropriate authorities" announced Erwin Melzer, President of Melco Group.
