If you suspect that you have viruses and have not employed commercially available software systems, TrendMicro has an online virus scan named "HouseCall" which they make available to all users at no charge. You may access and run it here: http://www.trendmicro.com/en/home/us/personal.htm Microsoft Corporation has made available a "Free" Anti Virus program named Microsoft Essentials. http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/?mkt=en-us
If you are having
issues with PC freezing etc. We would suggest
that:
1. make sure that if you have any AntiVirus type
software to "Exclude" the entire OASIS directory from 24/7 heuristic scanning.
We perform (see PC-TUNEUP} religiously on our office / home workstations monthly at least. There are several programs that allow users to run a system check on their MS OS software registry. Registry can accumulate a lot of broken / outdated software links etc., which can dramatically slow down workstation performance.
