Well, things are getting back to normal. Sort of. With this email we would like to bring you up to date on our current situation.

Website & Systems location

We had to simplify our website due to bandwidth problems with our graphics. Actually it's not as fancy as before (we may change that in the future but not our most pressing project currently.) You may want to check out http://www.melcogroup.com/network_protection.htm and specifically the link (on the left) titled Systems which showcases where our web servers and other services i.e.: email server, SQL Transaction server, etc., are now co-located.

Where is the Mail?
That's a good question and one that keeps me up at night. Right after Hurricane Katrina and news reports that "we could not go back for months" I panicked and accessed www.usps.gov and requested that our mail be delivered to Baton Rouge, La. Well, we received "one" piece of mail since August 28th. No bills. One customer check issued from Dallas, TX on 9/7 and received on 9/22 otherwise Zip. Nada! The 2nd mistake may have been that we then re-routed the mail we never got in the first place to our new mailing address and we are still waiting... for the mail to arrive. Argh!!!

Right now we are not panicked as we are a pretty solid little company with no debt and a few dollars in the bank. "BUT" if we don't start seeing some mail flow coming through, we may have to request that A/R due us is re issued. We apologize in advance for this if it becomes necessary but I don't think we need to explain what we are going through here in 'Nawlings.

OASIS Licensing Registrations
We've had a couple of calls from clients wondering about their OASIS Licensing registrations. This is to advice you that we are processing registrations via fax and this process should be completed by October 17th.

If you need software support or sales \ training assistance please use http://www.melcogroup.com/customer.htm or if you require to talk to a "live" person please contact our 24/7 toll free service @ 1.800.771.5791 and we will return the call. Our phone communications are still a bit "spotty" as we have more FEMA, National Guard, Military & Insurance adjustors than residents (or so it seems) and with over 41,000 Louisiana businesses out of commission everyone is on the phone all the time. That means the lines are either "the circuit is busy, please try your call later" or just sounds "busy" but not really as it just does not work 100% of the time. Email is working as least and so are computer to computer communications.

Again, I would like to thank everyone for the kindness and well wishes we have received and also for bearing with us as we put our lives and business back together.
